Introduction
TKO Hawaii was established in 2006 by Chief Sensei and Founder, Sensei Aaron Oandasan. Sensei Aaron joined the Traditional Karate Organization (TKO) under Head Instructor Sensei Jo Mirza in early 2006, and TKO Hawaii opened shortly thereafter. From 2006 to 2024, Sensei Aaron dedicated many years to sharing his teachings with people from all walks of life through TKO Hawaii.
As of late 2024, TKO Hawaii is now led by Sensei Charles Tomas and Sensei Blane Tomas, both lifelong students of the martial arts. Alongside Sensei David Keliiholokai, Sensei Mark Fujishiro, and Sensei Ty Nakamoto, the team continues to teach Shotokan Karate—blending traditional “old school” methods with modern “new school” approaches. Self-defense, self-improvement, and self-discipline are the core focal points of the program. Students are expected to work hard and strive for continuous improvement.
